The beautiful chaos of Phnom Penh greeted me joyfully. After a month in the bustle of big Bangkok I was so happy to have finally arrived. Completely unknown and unexplored, it didn’t matter. This was home. Stepping out of the airport into the heat rising off the pavement was undeniably a warm welcome. The Asian sun- a bright spotlight in the hazy sky shone relentlessly on the motorbikes zooming wildly through the streets. Pedestrians and bicycles dodged the traffic like a life sized game of Frogger. The sights, the sounds, the smells- the typical welcome to a foreign land. Everything is new, but new isn’t to be feared- it is just the familiar waiting to be discovered.
